Chapter 210

Harvey gave Orlena a gentle pat on the head. "Are you sure you still want to be with Max?"

Orlena's face turned ashen, shaking her head. No, she didn't. Max had a mistress on the side, and they weren't

even married yet. She no longer wanted this.

Harvey didn't mock her. He held his sister quietly, just like when they were kids. After stime, he lowered his

voice. "Cover to my place sometime. I'll get my wife to make you sfried chicken. Isn't that your

favorite?"

Orlena pulled away from his embrace, looking at him as if he were insane. After a long pause, she sniffled and

slowly said, "Dad's furious! | don't think he's going to agree with you guys. Plus, it doesn't seem like Eloise has

forgiven you yet. Are we both going to be single forever?"

Inside the Horigan's study.

Parker was furious! What was happening? The two kids he admired and liked, Max and Eloise had been together

for four years!

When Harvey walked in, Parker threw a glass at him. Harvey didn't dodge, the glass struck his forehead, and

crimson blood trickled down.

Pauline was heartbroken. Parker scoffed, "Look at you, a little blood, and you're already heartbroken. He knows

how to play you. That's why he's always playing the victim!"

Harvey played dumb. "Dad, what does Max's mistress have to do with me?"

Parker was livid. He put his hands on his hips, pointing at Harvey and scolding, "Still playing dumb, huh? You're

handsenough, but why are you so good at acting? You can fool others in court, but you think you can fool

Harvey fell silent. He slumped onto the sofa, grabbing a tissue to stop the bleeding.

Parker glared at him. "Not talking now? Harvey, you're really something. You knew about their relationship, but

you kept quiet and stole Eloise away. Were you planning on dumping her once you got tired of her, so no one

would know? What do you plan on doing now?"

Harvey calmly replied, "Orlena wants to break up with Max!"

He then smirked, "Tell me, Dad. How do you wantto bring down Velona Corporation to cool your temper? I'll

do whatever you can't do!"

Parker was fuming. His son knew exactly how to avoid the important issues. He glared at his wife, barking, "Look

at the son you've raised, all cunning and deceitful!"

Pauline retaliated, "Clearly, he got it from you. Why are you blaming me?"

Parker rubbed his nose, and his tone softened. "Get Eloise over here, | need to have a word with her about this."

"She's in Rossland, working on a big project. Dad, you need to let go of these outdated traditions. When Eloise

and | were together, she was still a young girl. | was her first man. What does Max have to do with this?"

Parker was so angry he laughed. He pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and took a slow drag. "So, | should praise you for

your quick action? And you're proud of it? Harvey, that's called being a scoundrel, shameless. I'm telling you, |

don't agree!"

Harvey didn't mind. Whether his father agreed or not was not important. The key was that Eloise was ignoring

him now. He replied, "Dad, aren't you jumping the gun here? The key is she's not willing, and she's ignoring your

son. I'm at a disadvantage here!"

Parker felt satisfied, giving him a scornful look, "Useless!"

Just as Harvey noticed his father's expression softening and was about to push further, their butler rushed in.

"Sir, Madam, a Mr. Brett from Brockville is here to see Mr. Harvey!"

Brett from Brockville?

Parker, a veteran in the volatile business world, was not an ordinary man. He sensed a storm brewing.

Quickly moving to the window, he drew the curtains to see several black cars parked in their yard. The cars

weren't particularly luxurious, just a fleet of Audi A8s, often used by prominent figures.

Parker guessed the visitor's identity. This was Brett Noland, the current head of the Noland family from

Brockville. Brett was different from them; he held a high position in the government. The rest of the Noland

family were mostly in business or arts, but they all revolved around Brett. Any significant matter in the family

required his approval.

Brett was most famous for being a lifelong bachelor. And for spending his life searching for his long-lost sister.

Staring outside, Parker spoke softly, "Brett may seem like a gentleman, but behind the scenes, he's a real wolf!

Who knows how many he's buried! Harvey, how did you get involved with him?"

Harvey had a guess. But he didn't reveal it and just smiled. "Maybe the Noland family is lacking in heirs and

wants to pick a son-in-law!"

Parker was infuriated. He snuffed out his cigarette, barking, "Cwithto meet our guest!"

Soon, Parker and his eldest son descended the grand staircase. Inside the high- ceilinged hall of the Horigan

family, a tall figure stood with his back turned, admiring a painting on the wall. Even from his back, his charisma

was unmatched.

Hearing their footsteps, the man turned around, a faint smile on his lips. Although he was in his 40s, he was

strikingly handsand well-maintained, looking no older than 35 or 36.

Parker had a sinking feeling. Everyone knew that the more amiable Brett appeared, the more trouble was

brewing. Of course, Parker was also an old cunning fox. He greeted Brett warmly, shaking his hand. "Mr. Brett,

are you interested in the painting?"

Brett continued to smile. "Mr. Horigan, it's your favorite. How could | take it?"

Parker mumbled a few words, then ordered the servants to serve tea. Normally so haughty, Harvey was now

humbly accepting the servant's tray, pouring a cup himself for Brett and even respectfully saying, "Brett, this is

Darjeeling Tea. Try it and see how you like it!"

Brett knew what was going on. Instead of drinking the tea, he pulled out an old, slightly yellowed photograph

from his suit pocket. He gently placed it on the coffee table and smiled faintly. "I chere today to inquire

about someone with Mr. Horigan."

Harvey picked up the photo.

The young girl in the photo was pretty and lively, much like Eloise.

Finally, Brett picked up his cup but paused just as his lips touched the rim. "Doesn't she look familiar, Mr.

Horigan? This is my long-lost sister. She has passed away... but she had a daughter named Eloise."

After speaking, Brett put down his cup. His gentle blue eyes looked at the Horigan father and son. His tone was

light and polite. "I've been searching for her for a long time. | heard she was quite close to Mr. Horigan, so | took

the liberty of coming to ask."
