Chapter 109 Learn To Cook
Elliot put his phone down and realized he had given Kaden the day off.
With Amanda’s birthday only a week away, he was counting down the days until he could formally end the
engagement-just eight days left.
Despite this, Elliot continued to message Corynn regularly, engaging her in mundane conversations. However,
Corynn seemed disinterested, often excusing herself with work or sleep.
He informed Corynn of his plans to cancel the engagement with the Willis family.
Corynn’s response was lackluster.
His enthusiasm diminished slightly.
Elliot was perplexed by Corynn’s lackluster reaction. Didn't she desire the cancellation of the engagement and
their subsequent marriage? Normally, such news would delight her.
Maybe she hadn't yet forgiven him, signaling that he had more to do to mend their relationship.
With this in mind, Elliot went to the hospital to deliver food for Corynn, only to discover she had already been
discharged the day he left.
Disappointed, he left without seeing her.

Reflecting on his past visits, where he saw Jason bringing her warm meals, Elliot decided he too would try his
hand at cooking for Corynn.
After purchasing several cookbooks, he followed the recipes meticulously. However, his first attempt resulted in
charred fried eggs.
What had gone wrong?
Despite several attempts, each ended either with a burn from splattering oil or a kitchen full of smoke.
The fire alarm system of the villa also rang because of the smoke.
In the midst of the chaos, Maura, the housekeeper, hurried in, shut off the stove, and guided Elliot out of the
smoky kitchen.
“Oh, Mr. Andrews, what are you doing?” she exclaimed, her tone mixed with concern and surprise. Upon seeing
Elliot's soot-smudged face, a stark contrast to his usual composed demeanor, she found him unexpectedly
approachable.
Elliot, lips pursed, remained silent, too mortified to admit his culinary disaster.
Maura, guessing his intentions, gently asked, “Are you trying to cook, Mr. Andrews?”
His silence confirmed her suspicion.

Chapter 109 Learn To Cook
Maura instantly grasped the situation, Having cared for Elliot for many years, she was well-acquainted with his
mannerisms.
Observing his embarrassment, she chose her words carefully.
“Mr. Andrews, would you like to wash your face?” she offered, providing a gentle escape from his culinary
mishap.
Elliot immediately sensed something amiss. Spotting people streaming in from the garden, he swiftly exited the
scene.
In the bathroom, he studied his reflection, its unusual darkness stark against the bright lights.
He splashed water on his face, trying to wash away the frustration.
Despite his aptitude for learning, cooking remained a baffling challenge.

Equally perplexing was winning Corynn back.
Stepping out of the bathroom, he was greeted by Maura’s offer, “Mr. Andrews, if you wish to cook, just ask. I'd be
happy to teach you!”
Elliot responded coolly, “Who said | was cooking?”
Maura chuckled, “Okay, you weren't cooking, just unraveling the deep mysteries of gastronomy!”
Elliot snorted dismissively.
“Mr. Andrews, | happen to excel at cooking. If you discuss it with me, you're bound to improve!” Maura added
encouragingly.
She had seen Elliot grow up and knew well his tendency to say the opposite of what he meant.
Losing his mother young had left him isolated; Maura often felt for him.
She reminisced about a twhen a young woman had briefly softened him, hoping they'd find lasting
happiness. That hope had faded too soon.
Maura was heartened to see Elliot showing more warmth than he had in years, and she wondered about the
woman who might capture his heart next.
She was certain it wouldn't be his current fiancee from the Willis family.
Maura had never cared for her.
