Chapter 1255:
“Okay,” Eileen replied. Seeing Bryan's weary appearance, she felt concerned for him and inquired, “It’s not really
the increased workload that’s bothering you, is it? It's Raymond, right?”
After all, Raymond had worked for Bryan for several years, and Bryan had placed great trust in him. Though he
rarely praised Raymond openly, Eileen knew that Bryan genuinely valued Raymond, as evidenced by the annual
raises and bonuses he awarded Raymond.
Who else’s assistant could earn millions annually?
Eileen recalled that when she had been Bryan's assistant, her workload was a bit lighter than Raymond's, yet her
annual salary was only a few hundred thousand dollars. Benjamin was a vice president of the company, and his
annual bonus and salary combined were only around one million dollars.
Raymond's departure truly hurt Bryan. The matter and the heavy workload severely affected Bryan.
“I'm not making excuses for Raymond, but did something happen to him for him to do this?” Eileen didn’t
believe Raymond was the type of person who was solely motivated by financial gain. Besides, how much could
the Deleon Group really offer him? It was improbable for Raymond to make several million a year. As the
manager of a department, he could earn at most a few hundred thousand dollars.

“No matter what happened, it doesn’t justify his actions, and he doesn’t warrant any sympathy.” Bryan's tone
grew cold. He massaged the space between his eyebrows and let out a sigh. Then, he guided Eileen to stand up.

He said, “It’s late. Let's head home.” He avoided further discussion about Raymond, turned off his computer,
grabbed his coat, and departed with Eileen.
Noticing that Bryan preferred not to continue the topic about Raymond, Eileen chose not to bring it up again.
However, something still felt off to her. Given Bryan's nature, it seemed unlikely he would let Raymond off this
easily. Perhaps he was prioritizing his work over everything else to keep her from worrying too much during her
pregnancy.
As soon as Eileen settled into the car, her stomach growled audibly. Bryan buckled his seatbelt and inquired, “Are
you hungry?”
“I haven't eaten dinner yet.” Eileen had chere right after signing the contract at the dinner party. Her
thoughts had been so consumed by the situation with Raymond that she had completely forgotten to eat.
Bryan's expression darkened. “What would you like to eat? I'll take you to eat.”
Luckily, Eileen wasn’t experiencing as much nausea as she had during her pregnancy with Gabriela. She had a
good appetite now. She would only feel nauseous when there was nothing in her stomach.
“Let's get ssoup.” Eileen licked her lips and suggested, “Let's go to the Coastal Courtyard. I'm not sure if
they'll still have soup on the menu this late.”
“Okay.” Bryan promptly started the car, and they smoothly made their way down the road.
About ten minutes later, they arrived at the Coastal Courtyard.
