Chapter 541 That sentence hit like a bombshell, and Noelle's mind buzzed as if an explosion had just gone off. Nothing about the sudden news made sense.
She glanced at Xenia, who did not even look like she wanted to argue. In her past life, Xenia had schemed her way into marrying Justin to beca wealthy socialite. So, why was everything different now? Donovan looked irritated. "Wyatt, what the hell are you doing? Everyone knows Xenia was adopted into our family-if you get involved with her, people will start talking." He had always known Wyatt had feelings for Xenia. However, after all these years apart, he assumed Wyatt had moved on.
Meanwhile, Xenia kept her head down, staying silent. Right now, Wyatt was the only person she could rely on. She had not heard anything from Sean, and she could not afford to pin all her hopes on him.

Wyatt answered in a heartbeat, "Xenia was only adopted-she's not actually related to the Liddells. I've liked her for years, and if it weren't for my injury, I wouldn't have waited until now to say it." Noelle found it odd. Based on what she knew about Xenia, that bitch never cared for the Liddells-her goal had always been to marry rich and climb the social ladder.
So, why would she settle for Wyatt now? Eventually, Noelle figured she might be doing this to cover up the bribery scandal. It seemed that Xenia really would do anything to save herself.
Donovan hesitated, looking conflicted. "This isn't appropriate." Wyatt replied, "There's nothing inappropriate about it. Xenia and I love each other." Donovan cast a skeptical glance at Xenia. "But wasn't she dating that Parham boy?" Xenia quickly cut in. "Justin and I broke up. Everything he said before was just a lie to fool me." Of course, she was not about to admit that she and Justin were still secretly seeing each other. However, Donovan still did not believe a word that cout of her mouth. Even Noelle found her excuse flimsy at best.
Yet, Wyatt turned to Noelle and said, "Noelle, Xenia is going to be your sister-in-law. She's part of the Liddells now-you wouldn't go after your own family so ruthlessly, would you?" Noelle clapped her hands slowly, her tone mocking. "Wow. That was quite the performance." She had not expected Xenia to pull a stunt like this. Honestly, she wanted to tell Wyatt that she had already cut ties with the Liddells. Whatever with Xenia did had nothing to do with her, but that was before.
Now that she was back, her goal was to force out the people backing Xenia. If she had given up now, all her efforts would have been wasted.
Noelle's expression remained cold. "And what does any of this have to do with me? It's not like she's marrying me." "Noelle, if you agree to drop this whole thing, I'll let go of what you did back then-approving my amputation behind my back," Wyatt said with complete confidence as if he were doing her a favor Xenia's eyes turned red as she choked up. "Wyatt, how could I let you suffer for my mistake? If I did something wrong, I should take responsibility for it." "No, Xenia, I won't let you take the fall. I'll protect you-you just have to trust me." Wyatt held onto her hand tightly, looking at her with nothing but devotion.
Then, he turned back to Noelle. "So? Have you made up your mind?" Noelle stayed silent. She had never imagined Wyatt actually liked Xenia. But before she could respond, Lucas spoke up.

He said, "Wyatt, I'm confused. What does your amputation have to do with Noelle? The truth is Donovan ignored her calls because he didn't want to take responsibility, forcing her to sign the papers for your surgery." His reply was shocking, and Noelle stared at him in surprise. She blurted out, "Is that true?"
She had always felt something was off back then. It made no sense that Donovan had not answered his phone at such a critical moment.
After all, Donovan knew Wyatt was in surgery. What could have possibly been more important than his own brother's life? "Of course, it's true. Frank toldhimself-he wouldn't lie about something like this," Lucas said firmly. Noelle turned to Donovan, her eyes filled with icy mockery. That look alone was enough to set Donovan off.
He grabbed a glass and hurled it at Lucas. "What the hell are you talking about? When have I ever done that?" Noelle let out a mocking laugh. "How about we call Frank and find out?"
