Chapter 157~ Brothers "Jason?" Lora remarked, her eyes widening in shock. "You're the donor?" Jason nodded, stepping closer to the bed and answered, "Yes, I'm the donor." Ryan glanced at Doctor Steve and the doctor chuckled, saying, "Your brother cthrough to have stests a week ago and the results were ready today. His stem cells are a match for yours, Ryan and he offered to donate and help you with your treatment." ##Flashback to a week ago.## Jason went to see Doctor Steve to have a medical test. He looked at the Doctor and said, "I'm Ryan's brother and I'm here to check if I can donate my stem cells to him." Doctor Steve smiled and replied, "That is so kind of you. However, I would like to know if you have any medical history. Do you also have a heart problem like your father? Even if you're a match, you can't donate your stem cells if you have a medical condition." Jason shook his head, saying, "No, I don't. I recently had a medical check- up. I'm as healthy as a horse." "Then we can have the test. If all goes well, you might turn out to be a match for Ryan Kingsley. The results will be out in a week," Doctor Steve responded.

After they got scells from Jason, he glanced at the doctor and requested, "Can we keep this between us? I don't want anyone to know that I had done the test. I also don't want to give Ryan false hope in case I'm not a match." Doctor Steve smiled and replied, "Sure. I'll call you when the results are out." Jason left the hospital, hoping that his stem cells would match Ryan's. Since he couldn't be with Lora, he wanted her to be happy with the man she loved.

Jason had heard that Diane and his father were a match for Ryan's stem cells but they couldn't donate because of their medical conditions. So, he thought since they were half-siblings, perhaps he would also turn out to be a match.

The chances were slim but Jason had to try. This was because he didn't want to see Lora heartbroken and also, Ryan was his brother. He couldn't just watch him die when he could have done something.

A week later, Doctor Steve called Jason over and told them the good news. After he heard that he was a match, Jason was more than willing to donate and save Ryan's life.

Looking at Lora, Jason adde "I'm sorry for everything, Lora. Seeingact like a jerk must have been confusing for you since you knewas a nice guy." Lora glanced at Jason, her eyes softening and a smile crossed her lips. She could see the sincerity in his eyes.

Ryan swallowed hard, a lump forming in his throat. He asked, "Are you really going to helpeven though I'm the reason you had to turn your mother in?" "How are you the reason?" Jason arched an eyebrow. "Didn't she commit those crimes on her own? We are all responsible for our actions and my mother had gone too far. I was afraid she would do something else if I didn't stop her." "I know we never grew up together and we were enemies but I would like to make things right between us. After all, you're the only brother I have," Jason added.

Ryan's eyes blurred with tears. He looked at Jason and didn't know what to say. To think just a few minutes ago, he was worrying about his pending death and now, he received help from someone he least expected. Life was truly unpredictable.

Who knew the guy he once hated and called his rival would be the one to offer him a second chance at life?

He smiled slightly and replied, "Thank you, Jason. I'm so touched, I don't don't even know what to say You just don't know what you've done... I was a dying man, but you've just broughtback to life." Ryan was really humbled by Jason's kind gesture.
