Chapter 480 Chapter 480 Mack's p.o.v.

I see more and more Wolves and Lycans walk into the Ballroom, a decent indication that the Queen will start her speech soon.

The main rumor of tonight is that the Queen will announce that she will step down soon and everyone wants to be there when she announces that, hoping that the future Queen will be here tonight.

Kay, Levi and I have been keeping an eye on our Mate, we are really curious about how she is going to get that poison into Elder Carlyle. I mean, Levi was with her when she poisoned Tamish's food, but he couldn't tell us how she did it and that means keeping a close eye on her.

Commander thinks it will be impossible for us to figure it out, she is a Royal Assassin after all. Not that it will stopfrom trying to figure it out and it won't stop Kay or Levi either.

After Elder Carlyle has introduced the Queen, she walks onto the stage and places a few papers on the stand in front of her.

"Good evening, I am glad all of you could..." She doesn't get any further, because the video of Elder Carlyle starts and mumbles are heard all around us.

Everyone is looking at the screen and little by little the true nature of Elder Carlyle is shown, but I doubt anyone could have predicted the last part of the video. Even his Daughter seems disgusted by his behavior, because there seems to be a difference between deceiving an entire Kingdom and rape.

Don't getwrong, anyone that is capable of raping another is despicable and deserves a death sentence. But she deceived an entire Kingdom, acting as if she had the right to sit on that Throne and demand whatever she wanted from others. She knew about the deceit and did nothing to stop it.

The Elders have ordered Warriors to surround the Queen and Elder Carlyle, just to make sure that no one kills them.

Both of them are looking for a way out, but there isn't and I see pure panic in both their eyes. Then that panic is replaced by something I have never seen and a moment later both of them crash to the floor.

Neither one of them responds to the Elders that try to wake them. A Doctor rushes in with a nurse right behind him and he starts shouting orders at her, but it doesn't take long before he gets up to step away from them.

"There is nothing I can do for them at the moment, they have been poisoned and I need to find out which poison was used. Get them to the infirmary, I will inform you the second I have found something." The Doctor says to the Elder closest to him, but everyone in the room has heard him.

I silently look at Kay and Levi, but both shake their heads. Looks like they didn't see our Mate administer the poison to the Queen and Elder Carlyle and I am really trying to find out if I remember seeing Maleah near either one of them, but I cup blank.

We all get ordered to return to our suites and most of us have no problem with that, but there are a few that don't want to leave the Ballroom. They still want to party or whatever might be the reason the object, but the Elders aren't having any of it and eventually Warriors are ordered to escort the reluctant guests back to their suites.

Dominic is still out cold when we return and Delaney tells us to move him to the couch. I am not going to go against my Luna and the five of us lift him of the bed and onto the couch.

We all change into something more comfortable and gather in our suite to avoid looking at Dominic. Maleah opens the doors to the balcony and we follow her outside to the sitting area, I let my eyes glide along the horizon with a smile on my face.

It might be after midnight, but with our eyesight that isn't a problem and I sit down next to Kay. Maleah is leaning back against Levi's side and she places her feet on my lap.

"We will discuss this at home, this isn't the right place. I would like to know what the Elders are going to do with Elder Carlyle, there were to many witnesses to sweep this under the rug." Maleah says and just as she leans forward to get her drink, a blood curdling scream is heard.

We all turn our heads to the suite, but we don't see Dominic running out of their suite and I let my hand run up and down her calf. I keep an eye on my watch and after about ten minutes another blood curdling scream is heard, the next scream follows almost fifteen minutes later.

More and more doors open to the balconies around us and it is probably the screams of Elder Carlyle that is keeping everyone awake. Except for Dominic of course, he gets to thank Maleah for not having to hear those screams every ten to fifteen minutes.

"Is there anything they can do against his screams?" I ask Maleah through the mind-link and we all look at her for an answer, when we hear another scream.

"No, not unless one of the Elders had sextensive training in poisons.

The recipes I have were coffected I over a course of four centuries and without them I wouldn't have been able to do any of this." Is her answer. Normally we would be leaving in the morning, but the Palace is in lock-down and we will have to stay here until the investigation here is done.

"Maybe one of should call hand tell our Fathers what is going on." Kay says and I want to grab my phone, but Maleah stops me.

"Both our Fathers knew what was going to happen and they will look after the Pack with Zane and Rander. Harvey and Pauline will help them out in anyway they can and none of the assignments will get delayed." Maleah says through the mind-link. "I already send Dad a message when we were sent back to our suite." Maleah says out loud, just in case anyone is eaves dropping on our conversation and it is followed with another blood curdling scream.

"CAN SOMEONE SHUT HIM UP?" A voice from somewhere to our left yells into the night and all Maleah does is shake her head.

We discuss Delaney's Luna Ceremony to pass the time, but we keep away from the subject named Dominic None of us is willing to piss off our Luna and she seems fine with our attempts to keep the conversation on the venue and colors or theme. After another scream from Elder Carlyle, Dominic comes running onto their balcony and jumps to our balcony when he sees Delaney. She just raises her hand, the moment he tries to reach out to her.
